Two core players in the oil and gas services sector, AOS Orwell and Emerson Automation Solutions shave initiated a strategic partnership designed to enhance the efficiency of operators in the industry.

Under the deal, AOS Orwell, an indigenous oilfield services company partnered with Emerson in what the two companies described as the “first of its kind road show and Turnaround Maintenance (TAM) workshop” to sensitise oil and gas companies on the operational issues as well as challenges associated with Shutdown, Turnaround and Outages (STO).

In a statement issued by the organisers of the workshop, the Executive Director, Sales and Marketing, AOS Orwell, Mr. Akeem Ariyo, was quoted as saying that, “as an indigenous oilfield services company of choice, our focus is always to give customers unhindered access to world class technology by providing end-to-end cost effective solutions that eases the speed of delivery from Field to Control Room throughout project life cycle.”

Ariyo, in his opening remark, stressed that the partnership was aimed at “deepening and building in-country capacity by investing in Nigeria for Nigerians.”

Similarly, the Director of Lifecycle Services, Emerson Middle East and Africa, Mr. K. Sathi said that he was in Nigeria to listen to valued customers about the challenges they face and discuss how his company can help them address the challenges through technology and expertise.

Another speaker, Emerson Country Manager Nigeria, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, said that Emerson had been investing in the Middle East and Africa, including Nigeria to serve its customers better with global quality.

Among the topics discussed at the workshop were “Systems and Solutions, Measurement Devices, Pervasive Sensing, Flow Measurement, Final Control, Training and Competency Development.”

The first workshop was held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos on February 28, 2017 while the second took place at AOS Orwell Base 1 terminal in Port Harcourt, Rivers State,

The workshops were attended by over 100 professionals who expressed appreciation to the organisers for equipping them with vital information and enriching their experience.
