The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan has fixed March 21, 2016 for the hearing of the appeal filed by some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains against Senator Buruji Kashamu, PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

The appellants are Dele Ajayi and Saula Adeniyi Wasiu. They are appealing against a pre-election judgment delivered against them by a Federal High Court, which ruled that it lacked jurisdiction in a suit instituted by them challenging the nomination of Buruji as the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, for Ogun East Senatorial district.

Though INEC counsel was absent during proceedings, counsel to the other parties, Kashamu and PDP, Mr U. K. Ezeh and the appellants, Olaleye Omitola agreed on March 21, 2016 fixed for hearing of the appeal

Meanwhile, another pre-election appeal filed by an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for Oluyole Federal Constituency, Jide Adewale against a member of the House of Representatives representing the constituency, Sumbo Olugbemi, has been sent back to the Federal High Court for amendment

Counsel to the appellant, M.A. Adebayo filed a stay of proceeding suit in the appeal and the matter was adjourned sine die
