Army takes delivery of military vehicles from Innoson Motors 

The Nigerian Army yesterday said it has started receiving the military vehicles it ordered from an indigenous manufacturing company, Innoson Motors.

The delivery followed an agreement reached between the Nigeria Army and vehicles manufacturing company.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai disclosed this after a meeting between him and Innocent Chukwuma at the army headquarters, Abuja.

According to him, the vehicles were configured fit for deployment into the field theatre of Operation Lafiya Dole

The partnership with the manufacturing company was aimed at making locally made military equipment and vehicles for the army.

He stressed that the three vehicles, which Innoson Motors had supplied to the army early last year, were found to be durable and performing very well.

He said the vehicles were found to be comfortable and convenient for military operations.

Based on that, he said, the Army acquired over 70 more variants of the Innoson vehicles, which were deployed in the Northeast.

The Innoson boss expressed happiness that the Nigerian Army has found his vehicles working perfectly.

He commended the Chief of Army Staff for his great sense of patriotism.

Meanwhile, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen RogersNicholas has handed over 244 repented Boko Haram suspects to Governor Kashim Shettima for official administration and re-integration into society.

Presenting the cleared insurgents on Monday to mark Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Nicholas said the cleared suspects had undergone various screening exercise and de-radicalised for handover to Borno State government.

He disclosed that the cleared suspects; include 118 male adults, 56 women, 19 under aged people and 51 children.

According to him, the Chief of Army Staff having gone through the recommended list of some of the repented Boko Haram suspects for handover and official administration, before they are re-integration into society.
