Rear Admiral Samuel Bitrus Atukum (rtd), former Military Governor of Plateau State, has advocated the culture of peaceful co-existence among all tribes and religious divides in Plateau State.

He also suggested re-orientation of the youth and encouraging tolerance, peaceful co-existence, peace building and conflict resolution capacity to be inculcated in them.

He spoke yesterday as Chairman at the closing ceremony of Youth Peace Camp IV, which took place at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) Mountain School, Shere Hills, Jos where 388 violent youth from three local governments of Bokkos, Mangu and Pankshin were trained to de-radicalise them.

The Institute of Governance and Social Research (IGSR) Jos organized it.

Atukum, who was chairman of the occasion, also averred that training the youth was a veritable tool for discouraging them from extreme behavior, radicalization and violent responses to real or perceived provocation.
