Buhari confirms ear infection, goes abroad for treatment

Less than 24 hours after the Presidency gave President Muhammadu Buhari a clean bill of health, it made a recant last night when it confirmed his ear ailment.

Less than 24 hours after the Presidency gave President Muhammadu Buhari a clean bill of health saying he ‘is hale and hearty, it made a recant last night when it confirmed his ear ailment. In fact, a statement by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said the president would take a 10-day vacation to enable him seek proper medical attention in the United Kingdom.

The latest development is coming on the heels of persistent denials by the Presidency regarding the President’s ear infection story, the last was a telephone chat by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Femi Aedsina, on  Saturday, where he debunked the media reports describing it as the  figment of the writer’s imagination.

But in a twist of events, Adesina, late last night, confirmed that the President would travel to London today, June 6, 2016  for some rest.
According to the statement, “During the holiday, he will see an E.N.T. specialist for a persistent ear infection. The President was examined by his Personal Physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja and was treated. Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution.”

The sign that all may not be well with the health of the president came to public knowledge when he could not honour his official visit to Lagos state.

An online medium had announced that the president who sent the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo to represent him on his much-publicised expected visit to Lagos, was suffering from ear infection

This was later denied by the presidency, which showed a photo of the president receiving Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, in his office.
Also, the president failed to honour his official visit to Cross River State and later the launch of clean-up of Ogoni land.

God will continue to expose the dishonesty and evils of this satanic import into the Nigerian life. This is a man that posed in Sheraton and claimed being in London. Who will still believe this faceless Buhari and Adesina the slave?

Does it mean that with all the universities and private collage in Nigeria, none can bring a good doctor. This is a very big shame thing in this modern century.

But I thought President Buhari detested those who sought medical care overseas. His advisers emphatically suggested to Nigerians that to reduce capital flight/ undeserved financial contributions to foreign economies, overseas medical treatments should be forestalled. The administration mentioned overseas medical treatments as one of the avenues through which the PDP leaders squander our monetary reserves. Nigeria cannot tell me that we do not have the best hospitals to look after our president’s well being. I don’t know when this country will get to realise that overseas treatment for less severe illnesses only portrays our technological in capabilities. An ear infection is supposed to be handled here in Nigeria for God sakes. We aren’t as worse as Togo or Sierra Lone. Unless Buhari is going to UK under the disguise of a serious illness. Not even UK that we are demanding for the timely return of our stolen loot. In addition, weren’t we mocked not quite long by the prime minister and his ex-mayor before the anti-corruption summit was held? We have no shame in this country. We cannot be respected in this way. How do you want the PDP rulers to feel remorse for their atrocities if you are not setting a legendary example for others to remember and honour.

Read the story very well before commenting. He was advised to seek further evaluation as a precaution. Even people in America seek for medical advise or treatment in other countries. I’m sure you have heard of footballers who ply their trade in UK going to other countries for treatment. Maybe you are thinking that an ear infection is a very easy thing to treat. I’m not a doctor, but I know of a hearing condition that has no cure yet. TINNITUS.

Well you must have heard that Jonathan is also in London. Perhaps the ear infection announcement was fabricated so as to give a good reason on why our president need to embark on another journey to UK. A close guess is that the two were invited to help settle their scores. 1. Shell has been tampered with. 2. UK may feel reluctant to release illicit funds to Nigeria. This is not a good time for such an action because the country is currently experiencing civil protests on tax payment and cost of living. In addition, Companies are closing down among several other crises. They need much of these loots for the execution of their budget. Since Jonathan is in London, one can presume that they were asked to attend a closed door meeting over their differences so as not to incur severe implications on UK’s integrity and economy. That is the only possible reason I can think of. Na they sabi jare…may God give we Nigerians the strength to carry on and survive this hardship we are going through.

That man is a hypocrite, I had thought that he is an honourable man who means what he says and says what
he means but how wrong I was. He told us that overseas education is not acceptable nor should be encouraged, I understand that his children are studying overseas; he told us that people should not be going for medical check-up or treatment overseas, here he is in London for exactly the same thing. I bet not from his meagre salary at the current exchange rate of N500 to £1. He told us that he would publish the names of looters and the amount stolen now he is hiding under the legal excuses cover.

Can Nigerians ever believe whatever this man says? A man’s word should be his bond but in Nigeria
      or with Mr Buhari

Lying govt. Didn’t they say he is not sick?

wow just for an ear infection Nigeria’s president travels all the way to london to get expert treatment and a second opinion. Shame on Nigeria. And this ear infection explains all the loud cries and groans of the common people suffering from their day to day challenges of fulani terrorist, boko haram, niger delta avengers, etc. Our president can not hear o!

Embarrassing!!! So he must ‘Go Abroad’ for an ear ache? What does that say about Nigerian medical profession? Shameful if your own elected representatives ‘Go Abroad’ for medical care. Have you elected a coward? My nephew had to go to India for surgery 2 years ago successfully after our Nigerian doctors failed us multiple times and huge cost to us. Why do we not have the basic medical infrastructure for even an ear ache? Very very embarrassing.

There’s no need to be evasive on the truth of his UK visit, it indeed he has a plan for reconciliatory meeting with GEJ. The reason I read of does not give confidence to my nephew and his colleagues who are doctors at home, to learn that their leader is off elsewhere for a procedure that should be perfectly within our resources at home. I am thoroughly embarrassed and I won’t mention it to me students here in Cheshire. I will remain fiercely proud of my native country and I don’t understand why we still pay over the odds to send people to ‘Abroad’ for medical care. Is Buhari a Nigerian? How can he do this to his own people?

“Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution”. Does that mean their evaluation was not enough precaution, as to necessitate a foreign trip?

My dear for how long will we keep surviving this hardship? I think it is time we untangle this amalgamation. It’s a forced marriage designed for doom.

        • Author’s gravatar

Forced marriage designed for doom…..uhmmm. But lots of blood will be shed over such move( to disintegrate into smaller nations). Soon we will know the outcome of Buhari and Jonathan’s visit to UK.

          • Author’s gravatar

And why should blood be shed? Are we not equal citizens? Or do we have a case of second class citizens? My dear friend friendship and marriage are never by force nor a must. Also, divorce is an option always on the table. I think we are reasonable people unless you believe we are unreasonable people.

Not just ear infection. It was said to be accompanied by serious headache. Further investigation was advised.
The option of where to seek medical treatment should be left to individual and family to make.
Hence the same opinion should be available to all Nigerian. Foreign trips should be at one’s expense.
    Wishing president well.

The problem of Nigeria we all agree is multifaceted including the psychology of the people which the psychologists in ‘Management Studies’ agree also is the most difficult one, out of the three factors of production, to predict and for Nigeria it is even more problematic to decipher what is happening within you – i.e. your thinking and all! But in all of it I want to remind that I have handed in much earlier, by
premonitions, the right solutions to help you people but going by that Nigeria factor i. e.” Who do you tell and he/ she is willing to act, simple things seem to be too much to manage by you in Nigeria! We pray for him no doubt for both the examination and an adequate treatment for the ailment! And can I say here; So soon as he returns back to Nigeria can he call for my solution copies deposited at his SGHF’s and the Senate President’s offices in ABUJA on the 2nd
February 2015! If you havn’t got the copy due to Nigeria’s way of dismissing important issues, let me know that I may send you the copy again but please this is not waja-waja talk, in your local parlance, it is serious as it can be if you people are really thinking properly in that country!

WITH THIS REPORT IT BECOMES EVEN MORE EXPEDIENT THAT YOU CALL FOR THE SOLUTION AND STUDY THE
IMPORTS! AND PERHAPS/ OBVIOUSLY IT BECOMES even more necessary and fits aptly into that my ‘acclamation’, thus : – Like the child crying profoundly and pointing its finger in a direction to draw attention thus; Write the truth/facts so that as they read them they will be filled with wonderment and hopefully ready to do something leading to correctness in your politics, which will ultimately lead to the anticipated industrial, economic and social growths for the peoples in Nigeria!

It’s truly hard to swallow, when African leaders spend their hard earned national wealth on fruitless and useless services from the white man. Sadly, expense is not and cannot be equated to efficacy – you will still die, so why don’t you live a worthwhile legacy with every spare resource instead of compounding the bad lot of our people? Have we not been screwed long and hard enough of our resources? I fully understand the difficulties of nationalism and the risks – as we have all seen the plight of Zimbabweans who have had to suffer collectively for the nationalistic stance of the great Africanist Mugabe. But I will argue that we need more Mugabes in Africa to exert a collective effort at the lot of the black people. We are constantly being punished whenever we as black people dare to ask for economic equity. This has psychologically conditioned us into acquiescing to racial and cultural inferiority. We need to dramatically re-educate ourselves into the greatest love of all – the love of the self and then to project this into a racial confidence for the sake of future generations. Why do these simpletons inflict these behaviours on our collective culture? We must do all in our best effort to expose the myth that ‘white is good and black is inadequate’ – we owe it our race.
