Building material dealer shot dead in Delta

A building material dealer whose name was simply given as Justice, was at the weekend shot dead by suspected assassins at Ughelli, Delta State.

According to an eyewitness who would not want his name in print, the deceased was relaxing in front of his residence opposite Kubi Motel, along Ughelli-Patani road when the gun-totting goons walked up to him and shot him pointblank on the chest.

Mother of the deceased who also lives in the house immediately rushed out when she heard the sound of the gunshot only to see her son in the pool of his blood. The deceased, whose age could not be immediately ascertained, was immediately rushed to the Ughelli Central Hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

Lamenting, one of his relatives, who did not disclosed his name said it was painful for the young and upcoming building material dealer to have died by the bullet of assassins.

He described Justice as a humble and peaceful person, who got married only last December, wailing that the bullet of assassins had suddenly made his young wife a widow.

The late Justice hailed from Oviri Olomu in Ughelli south local council of the state. Concerted efforts to reach the Divisional Police Office in charge of Ughelli on the incident proved abortive yesterday.
