Bureau to digitalise public procurement
The Public Procurement (BPP) is to deploy modern technology to further strengthen the entire process.
Its Director General, Mamman Ahmadu, at a stakeholders’ workshop on the development of category matrix for the national database of contractors, consultants and service providers (CCSP) in Abuja, pointed out that the whole world had gone technologically in public procurement process.
Nigeria, he added, had keyed into the trend of playing in tune with best global practices by going digital for more participation, efficiency and transparency.
The DG stressed the need for all professional bodies to be fully involved in the reforms.
He stated that Sections 5j, 5q and 6j of the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2007 make provision for CCSP to enhance specilalisation and performance as well as to reduce cost of tendering.
