Businessman docked for allegedly stealing three ATM cards in Delta

A thirty-eight-year-old businessman identified as Christian Enebeli is currently standing trial for allegedly stealing three Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards of different banks in Asaba, Delta State.

The accused person, who pleaded not guilty to three-count charge against him, was arraigned last Friday at an Asaba Chief Magistrate’s Court with charge sheet No. CMA/540c/2016.

Christian Enebeli was also accused of withdrawing N147,000 from the account of his victims.

The charged read: “That you Christian Enebeli on May 1, 2016 at First Bank Nnebisi Road, Asaba, stole one First Bank ATM Card valued N1,000 and a cash of N20,000 from one Michael Chibuike”.
In count two: “That you Christian Enebeli on July 31, 2016, at Sterling Bank, Umuagu Asaba stole one Ecobank ATM valued N1,000, property of one Emmanuella Onianwa and also “That you, Christian Enebeli stole another ATM card of Stanbic BTC Bank valued at
N1,000 and cash sum of N125,000 property of one Nnemani Osita, thereby committing an offence punishable under the Nigerian Criminal Code”.

The charges, according to the laws of the state, are punishable offences under section 516 of the Criminal Code cap c21 Vol. 1 Law of Delta State of Nigeria 2006, section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 21 vol.1 law of Delta State of Nigeria 2006 and section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code cap 21 vol. II law of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.

Chief magistrate Sylvester Okoh adjourned hearing till October 11, 2016 and granted the accused person bail in like sum of N100,000 and a surety who must be resident in Asaba.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old Collins Osuya has been charged for allegedly stealing of Sumac Fireman generating set belonging to one Umeh Matthew and one electrical switch valued N66,000.00.

In two count charges, the accused pleaded not guilty before Chief Magistrate Sylvester Okoh, and was granted bail in like sum of N100,000 and surety resident in Asaba while it was adjourned for hearing October 3, 2016.
