Clear yourself with EFCC, Edo govt tells Ize-Iyamu
Edo State Commissioner for Information, Kassim Afegbua, has asked governorship aspirant, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, to sort out his problems with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), instead of displaying crass ignorance of the workings of government and modern development.
The governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was reportedly invited yesterday by the anti-graft agency.
In a statement, Afegbua urged him to be more concerned about defending the charges leveled against him, on alleged N700 million campaign funds collected by him to prosecute the re-election of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The statement berated Ize-Iyamu for alleging that that the state government collected over N1 trillion in almost eight years, which was used on projects, which in his estimation, were not evenly distributed.
While appreciating his admittance that the governor, Adams Oshiomhole, was working on some projects, he however frowned at what he called Ize-Iyamu’s lack of knowledge of what is happening, when he said the state government “chose deliberately to ignore agriculture and industry.”
The statement reminded the aspirant of the several industries executed by the governor.
