Cleric urges Buhari to reduce masses’ suffering
The National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bidi’ah Wa’iqamatis-Sunna (JIBWIS), Abdullahi Bala Lau, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to find solution to masses’ suffering.
He made the appeal yesterday at the end of the group’s five-day national camping in Gombe.
The cleric urged the president to seek answers to the existing hardship with the same resolve that the Boko Haram insurgency was being fought.
Lau said Buhari must do everything within his powers to reduce the suffering that the economic recession had caused.
He explained: “Prophet Mohammed promised that any leader who reduces the sufferings of his people would be abundantly blessed.”
He also urged Nigerians to be patient and cooperate with the Federal Government’s economic recovering strategies.
“The nation’s suffering could be due to the sins of the people, therefore, we need to diligently search ourselves and seek God’s forgiveness,” he said.
