A 20-year old man (name withheld), who was allegedly subjected to drinking his own blood by prominent cult gang members in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, has been admitted to private hospital in the area.

The Police Commissioner in the state, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident yesterday in Asaba, disclosed that three of the cult gang members are currently in the police net in Kwale Police Division, adding that the victim was being treated in a private hospital in the area.

Zanna informed that the victim was hoodwinked by the suspects, who confessed to be members of Viking confraternity, into thick forest in Kwale where he was allegedly subjected to drinking own blood, after cutting off his thumb.

It was gathered that the suspects had been threatening the victim overtimes to join their group, but declined, only to be hoodwinked at a drinking spot from where they lured him into initiation.

The victim was said to have undergone the rituals one after the other until the last rite where his thumb was allegedly cut off, and was made to drink his own blood on the spot.

But the police boss said that the victim’s refusal to eat fresh human body allegedly led to be beaten by the cultists, which attracted some farmers, who contacted the police.
