This year’s conference theme is The Urhobo Nation and the Restructuring of Nigeria. A statement signed by Olorogun Ese Okobiah and Mr. Benson Uwheru, respectively Chairman and Secretary of the Conference Planning Committee, on behalf of Urhobo Foundation, said the lecture is “aimed at providing an intellectual platform for meaningful and practical engagements with respect to the current National debate on restructuring and the State of the Urhobo Nation.”

Darah is not only a distinguished academic, he is a former chairman of the Editorial Board of The Guardian newspapers and was a delegate to the 2005 and 2014 National Political Conferences in Abuja.

He is expected to bring his rich experiences as academic and social crusader to bear in addressing the position of the Urhobo, one of Nigeria’s constituent ethnic groups, on the renewed agitation for the restructuring of the country.
