Delta Central Run-Off Election Holds Today

THE run-off of the cancelled Delta Central Senatorial district election holds today. The election, which initially took place on March 28 was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following large-scale irregularities including alleged forgery of result sheets and snatching of ballot boxes.

• Uduaghan Urges Electorate To Shun Violence

THE run-off of the cancelled Delta Central Senatorial district election holds today. .

The election, which initially took place on March 28 was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following large-scale irregularities including alleged forgery of result sheets and snatching of ballot boxes.

The main candidates in the Delta Central senatorial election are Ovie Omo-Agege of the Labour Party, Ighoyota Amori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Halims Agoda of the All Progressives Alliance (APC).

Earlier, outgoing Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan urged the electorate in the senatorial district to shun acts capable of disrupting the election.

He made the appeal in Warri during a meeting with elders of the PDP in the area just as he warned that security agencies were ready to deal with anyone involved in violence
