MEMBERS of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers have asked communities in the state to protect government facilities in their domain.

A communiqué issued at the end of the traditional rulers’ meeting in Asaba, the Chairman of the council and Obi of Owa, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, who read the communiqué condemned the incessant destruction of water pipelines, stealing of generating sets and vandalisation of critical government infrastructure across communities in the state.

The traditional rulers said the willful destruction of public infrastructure by vandals would henceforth attract severe sanctions; as government would not replace damaged facilities.

The royal fathers adopted a new set of etiquette designed to regulate the conduct of members.

The primary objective of the new code of conduct, which took effect from November 30, 2017 is to ensure that traditional rulers in Delta State conduct themselves with the highest degree of decorum and dignity befitting of their status.
