Professor Kolawole Adebayo, a Prof. of Rural Development Communication, of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has said that although the rural areas are becoming a challenge to the country at the moment, they could be asset in future if properly developed.

Speaking with The Guardian after he presented a paper titled: Mercenaries And Merchants: The Dialectics of Rural Development In Nigeria during the 52nd Inaugural Lecture of FUNAAB in Abeokuta, Adebayo said that the missing link in rural sector are water, electricity, good road and education.
