The Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday arrested former Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, over alleged insurgency plot in Kano schools.

Also held for igniting the false security alarm was one retired Captain Umar Abdullahi.

Dangwani, a medical doctor, was former Chief of Staff to ex-governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso before his appointment as commissioner.

He was picked at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano around 8:a.m. yesterday on his way to Saudi Arabia for the lesser Hajj.

The Guardian learnt that Dangwani was accused of spreading the false rumour last week, in collaboration with the retired military officer that Boko Haram was planning to unleash terror in Kano schools.

The retired captain was linked with a malicious text message about the planned terrorist attack.

The message, which was forwarded to a prominent personality in the state, was allegedly linked to Dangwani.

According to a reliable source, the retired captain, after interrogation confessed to have masterminded the text message, which forced the security apparatus to be on red alert.

Umar, the source revealed, orchestrated the dirty deal after being paid N1.5m by the former commissioner.

Dangwani was reported to have been taken to Abuja for further investigation.
