The candidate maintained that she stands for equity , insisting that power should go to the south no matter who wins, as her ambition was to ensure that someone from Ebonyi south stood for the election, no matter whose ox is gored.

THE female governorship candidate of the Independent Democrats (ID) in Ebonyi state, Mrs Grace Uduma-Eze has vowed to re-position the state in terms of infrastructural development , if elected , so it will compete favourably with other states in the zone.

Mrs Uduma-Eze who made the pledge during a chat with journalists in Abakaliki noted that if elected she will create an enabling environment for both local and foreign investors in the state.

This, she said would not only hasten development in the state but will generate employment for youths and reduce over dependence on government for jobs.

On education, Uduma-Eze faulted the state government’s poor funding of the sector promising to reduce the school fees in the state university from over N120, 000 as paid now to N20, 000.

She added that she was vying for the position of governor not to challenge anybody but because of the pitiable conditions of the people, living without basic needs of life.

She noted with dismay that the state governor, Chief Martin Elechi was not sincere that power should shift to the south, pointing out that “The failure of Elechi’s administration was that the governor did not assemble intellectuals to guide him in decision making and implementation of government polices and programmes”.

The candidate maintained that she stands for equity , insisting that power should go to the south no matter who wins, as her ambition was to ensure that someone from Ebonyi south stood for the election, no matter whose ox is gored.

She promised to complete all the uncompleted projects with priority on subsidizing education and creating enabling environment for academic activities in the state.

“Time has come for women to be given an opportunity to serve the state because there has not being any meaningful development in the state for the past seven and half years.

“I will recognize intellectuals in my administration. Our roads will be superb. None of the projects initiated by the present administration has been completed. We don’t need their promise again. I’m coming to bring real transformation in the state, off course, you know that whatever a man can do, a woman can even do better”.

“ I am urging the people to come out en-mass and vote for the Independent Democrats Party, so that together, we will build a better state”.
