Encomiums for Fasoranti at 90
Encomiums are still pouring in for the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, on his 90th birthday.
He is a blessing to the Ondo State, the Yoruba ethnic nationality and the present generation of Nigerians at large, according to Governor Olusegun Mimiko
Dr. Mimiko, who spoke at an event to mark the birthday at the Afenifere leader’s residence in Akure, yesterday affirmed that the nonagenarian has contributed immensely to the development of the state and humanity as a whole.
He said Fasoranti represents progressive ideology and selfless service to humanity, urging the younger generation to emulate him.
Earlier in his sermon at the service, Bishop of Akure Anglican Diocese,
Rt. Reverend Simeon Borokini, who described the celebrant as a consistent elderstateman urged politicians to take a cue from his leadership style.
Other dignitaries at the celebration were Senator Iyiola Omisore, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Olu Falae, Chief Sehinde Arogbofa, the representative of Ooni of Ife, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, Gen. Alani Akinrinade, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Abdulazeez Oluboyo, the chairman, Council of Obas and Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, the Deji Of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi as well as members of the state executive council among others.
Well-wishers who spoke with newsmen, like Chief Adebanjo, Otunba Daniel, the Deji of Akure and Chief Arogbofa described the celebrant as a rare gem who has impacted humanity positively in unquantifiable terms.
The celebrant, who was with his children, great grandchildren
and others, attributed all his successes in life to God.
