MORE reactions are still trailing the recent Department of State Security’s raid of the former National Security Advisor’ residence, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) Presidential Legal Advisor to the late Head of State General Sani Abacha and a Professor of Constitutional Law, Prof. Auwalu Hamisu Yadudu yesterday cautioned that investigation by the security operatives should always be within the purview of the law.

In an exclusive interview with The Guardian, Yadudu advised that if there was any allegation against anybody, not minding who was involved, the courts should be allowed to perform their constitutional rights .

“Not much is known about the new development. We only learned that Dasuki is being investigated based on an allegation. Because of the little information we have on the matter it will be difficult for anyone to say that the investigation is on right track, “ he explained.

Also, former Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, who is a human rights activist, Comrade Isah Tijjani (mni) challenged that “Security operatives shouldn’t have done better, as they have all the apparatuses to clearly understand how culpable he is.

If they found him guilty after proper investigation then they should take him to court, simple.” Tijjani charged that if the security operatives were doing that to impress President Muhammadu Buhari, then they should review their modus operandi immediately.
