Experts harp on adequate data to tackle security challenges
Stakeholders in the industrial security sector have stressed the importance of sufficient data to address the nation’s security challenges.
Speaking at the ninth annual conference of the Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security (NIIS), the General Manager, Security, Chevron Nigeria, Mr. Shina Bankole, noted that a well-planned, adequate and working database was necessary to assist the nation overcome the current state of insecurity.
Bankole, who was represented by Mr. Innocent Ochagla while delivering a lecture on “Developing and Implementing Performance Standards in Enhancing Security Effectiveness,” said that with a population of over 170 million, Nigeria needs a credible data system.
He said: “As security organisations you must ensure that every security threat and challenges are handled professionally” .
