The Federal government has said that the dreams of Service Compact With All Nigerians [SERVICOM] launched by a past administration in year 2004 to ensure prompt service delivery in Ministries, Departments and Agencies [MDAs] was frustrated and made inefficient as a result of poor funding and lack of political will.

Government has however, assured that it is ready to reposition SERVICOM to help fight massive corruption, indolence in the federal civil service while ensuring timely, fair, honest, effective and transparent culture is restored.

The Head of Service, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita made this known while constituting a Ministerial Committee on the revival of SERVICOM now headed by an Acting National Coordinator, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli. She charged the committee to ensure that all Federal Civil Servants, beginning with her office, imbibe the culture of being efficient, productive, incorruptible and citizen-centered in the provision of services to Nigerians.

Oyo-Ita further stated that they have unveiled a new ethos for the service couched in the acronym Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen- Centered Civil Service [EPIC].

Responding, the Acting National Coordinator SERVICOM Office, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, said that the reconstitution will not only ensure the institutionalization of SERVICOM ideals in the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, but it will also lead to the entrenchment of a culture of change and re-orientation of Civil Servants service-wide.
