Focus more on love at Easter, Fayemi tells Christians
Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has urged Christians to exhibit more love, unity, tolerance and coexistence during Easter season and beyond, saying these are what characterise the early ministry of Jesus Christ, which are the panacea for the nation’s challenges.
In a goodwill message signed by his side, Yinka Oyebode, the minister congratulated Christians for successful completion of the 40 days Lenten period, adding: “Nigeria needs a peaceful environment for development to thrive, and when we pray for it, we have to work for fundamental values that would promote harmony.”
He explained that the fasting and praying have climaxed in Easter celebration, urging Christians to always uphold the virtues of sacrifice for nation building.
Fayemi called on Christians to make ample use of opportunity of the season for sober reflection and emulate Jesus Christ, who laid down his life for humanity.
