DPR seals four petrol stations in Abuja
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has sealed four petrol stations in Abuja for hoarding, under dispensing and other sharp practices in selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
Alhaji Mohammed Usman, DPR Zonal Operation Controller, North Central, told newsmen while monitoring some filling stations on Saturday that DPR would continue to sanction those engaged in sharp practices.
Commenting the fuel scarcity situation, Usman said that most of the filling stations visited had products to sell, adding that there was no need for the long queues witnessed in the city.
The Zonal Controller said the DPR had directed that henceforth, there should be no reserve of fuel for the so called ‘special customers’.
Mr Ademola Abraham, a motorist, at NNPC Beulah, commended the effort of the DPR in ensuring that the products were dispensed fairly.
We have been here (petrol filling station) since 6a.m but they refused to sell to us. Yesterday, we saw them discharging products but yet they have refused to sell,’’ he said.
Another motorist, Abdulrahman Sani said that they spend over five hours at the NNPC Gauiyya Affiliate station before they could get the product

You have been relaxing on your laurels, DPR! It is all out war! If you do not consistently wield a sledgehammer, these shylock operators will keep eating the public and the Nation for lunch every day. I have suggested you close on the spot the violating stations and cancel with fanfare, the operating licenses of the recalcitrant marketers. If this has continued when you started with the first 22 stations, to be frank, the fuel lines should have disappeared. The picture will therefore appear clearly thereafter for those that want to toe the CHANGE line that is gaining momentum. Stop languishing in uncalled for leniencies. The Law is wicked but then it is the law. That’s what people do not know.
We will review and take appropriate action.
