FUPRE disowns ‘new curriculum, resumption date’
The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has described as a scam the recent news on the social media that it had switched over to a new curriculum set by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
It also disclaimed the January 22, 2018 resumption date being spread on same platform.
The institution advised the public, especially old and new students, to disregard the report, which also claimed that a 10-man committee met on the 16th of this month to set the sc-called resumption date.
According to a statement by the Registrar, Mr. Ejikemenwor Ichendu, FUPRE has no other curriculum “than the one approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), neither has the management announced a resumption date for both returning and new students.”
He noted that “academic matters, such as curriculum and resumption, are the exclusive functions of the University Senate and not any imaginary 10-man committee.”
