Group holds prayer session over killings
The Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) is to hold a seven-day prayer session and fasting to end the killings in parts of the federation.
In a statement yesterday in Kaduna, the body’s president, Comrade Abdulsalam Mohammed Kazeem, urged “fellow youths in Benue, Zamfara, Plateau, Kaduna and other parts of the country not to allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians.”
The forum noted that in the past two weeks, faceless bandits had turned the four states into a “theatre of human abattoir where human being are being maimed and killed like animals with a non-stop tactical operation module.”
The prayer holds from today through May 4, at the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) secretariat in Abuja.
“We appeal to the entire citizens of this great nation to join us as we declare a seven-day fasting and prayer for our leaders in particular, and the nation in general,” Kazeem added.
