Nigeria recorded the highest retail sale of $125 billion in the sub-Saharan Africa in 2016. In fact, despite the current economic challenges in Africa, the retail market was the third largest contributor to Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP).

This was made known by the Global Retail Development Index, further reiterating how instrumental the retail market is to economic development of the country. Meanwhile, the Home Décor and Giftware Exhibition organised by Clarion Events West Africa, in partnership with The Retail Council of Nigeria, and The African Association of Interior Designers is scheduled to hold at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos July 5-7, 2017.

It is a retail event that will further open up channels of trade between Nigerian buyers and international suppliers and manufacturers. Retail trade in Nigeria is fast growing and it is expected that in a few years to come, it is going to be the biggest employer of labour and a major contributor to the country’s GDP. Therefore, the exhibition potentially provides a huge increase in foreign investments and investors. It is also an opportunity for Nigerian manufacturers to showcase products.
