I have no interest in Manchester United transfer, says Bale
MANCHESTER United are set to face disappointment in their pursuit of Gareth Bale after the Real Madrid superstar rejected reports of a move to Old Trafford.
Bale has been a repeated target for the Red Devils, who were thought to be lining up a mouth-watering bid of £117m that would comfortably break the world record set when the Welshman moved from Spurs to the Spanish capital back in 2013.
However, speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Sr, Bale has insisted that he is not looking to move away from the Bernabeu after establishing himself as an integral part of a side that won the Champions League and Copa del Rey last season before winning 22 consecutive games this term.
Bale said: ‘Do I see myself in Manchester next season? No, not at all. I am very happy here. I still have many years of contract and I want to keep winning titles in this team, Real Madrid.
“I try not to be very aware of the press [reports]. Neither here nor anywhere else. Being in the Real Madrid team, I understand that there is a huge media attention and we must learn to live with that.”
Bale settled quickly into life with the La Liga giants following his £85 million move from Spurs and the winger scored a stunning winner against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey last April.
The Wales international followed it up by heading in Los Blancos’ crucial second in their 4-1 Champions League triumph against fierce arch-rivals Atletico Madrid in May.
