‘I was offered oil well, billions of naira to destroy ADC’

Isiaka Officially Admitted Into ADC, Declares Governorship Ambition
The National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralph Nwosu, yesterday, revealed how he was offered “oil well and billions of naira” as a bait to ensure the party does not fly as soon as former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Coalition for Nigerian Movement (CNM) adopted the party.

But he did not mention those who made the offer to him, while stoutly denying that Obasanjo “bought” the ADC from him.

Nwosu also alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) manifestos and slogan were those of the ADC, which were “copied” and given to the ruling party by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nwosu made the disclosures while receiving a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ogun State in the 2015 general election, Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, popularly known as GNI, into the party.

Isiaka’s governorship ambition is said to have been endorsed by Obasanjo.

At the colourful event held at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Nwosu said he had spent his personal resources to build the party, but was not ready to sell the conscience of the nation.

He said his first point of call, after registering the party in 2006 was Buhari, but he rejected the idea of the party, only to copy the ‘change’ slogan and the manifesto.

“When we registered ADC in 2006, I invited Buhari to join our party and our slogan was ‘Change for Better Nigeria.’ I did not hear anything from him again after our discussion. I later started hearing our slogan in the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). They took what we have in ADC to CPC and was adopted by APC.

“They copied our values, but they could not implement. But Obasanjo saw our manifesto online, invited me and said he had done some due diligence about our party and the day he touched ADC, the party became a Midas touch.

“Some people have offered me more than oil money and oil well. People are ready to give me $1billion. The burden is on me. I have been offered billions of money with security, but nobody has ever spent money on me.

“I cannot sell the conscience of Nigerians. I did not collect any money from anybody; it is about this country must change.”

Isiaka officially announced his membership of the ADC and was presented his membership card.

He also declared his intention to contest the party’s governorship primary, assuring that if elected, he would transform the state for the better.

Among party faithful at the event were national officers at the national and state levels, the National Secretary, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulkadir, and Gen. Ekundayo Opaleye, among others.
