IG decorates force spokesman, others with new ranks
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, has decorated the Force Public Relations Officer, Don Awunah and eight others with their new ranks of Commissioners of Police (CPs).
A breakdown showed that four Acting Commissioners of Police (CPs), one Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and a Superintendent of Police (SP) were also worn their new ranks.
The lucky officers included Acting CPs Bello Ahmed; Don Awunah, Afeez Inuwa, Garuba Umar; Ag. DCP Abu Sanni, ACPs Ibrahim Adamu Bakore, Kolo Yusuf, Abba Kyari and SP Abdulkareem Abdullahi.
During the ceremony, Idris informed that the officers were promoted due to diligence, urging them to uphold their dedication to duty.
He said the exercise, a deliberate management policy to motivate men and officers of the force for greater heights, was open to all deserving personnel.
The police boss charged the officers to see the event as an “elevation within the context of a springboard to greater challenges and increased efforts to accomplish organisational goals.”
He directed departmental and zonal heads to reactivate the reward system within the force.
