The remains of slain 74-year-old Mrs. Bridget Agbahime were buried amid tears at her matrimonial family compound in Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Council of Imo State at the weekend.

The deceased, who was murdered by suspected Muslim fundamentalists a few months ago after a quarrel, was said to have been killed in the presence of her husband in a Muslim leader’s home in Kano where she had run to for safety.

Speaking at the graveside, the husband, Pastor Mike Agbahime, urged the Federal Government to ensure justice.

He thanked the Imo and Kano state governments for standing by him and family of Agbahime in their moment of grief.

Meanwhile, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, represented by his deputy, Eze Madumere, condemned what he called the barbaric act of the overzealous fundamentalists. He stressed that the state government was determined to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to book.

While praying that God consoles the deceased’s family, he commended Kano State Governor Abdulahi Ganduje and security agencies for their efforts to ensure that the culprits were made to face the full wrath of the law.
