A mid-day female intruder, simply identified as Priscilla, yesterday caused a stir when she beat security at the gate, sneaked into one of the bedrooms and carried an eight-month-old baby in the residence of the Anglican Archbishop of Enugu, Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma.

The incident was immediately reported to Archbishop Chukwuma by some of his aides, but he, suspecting the intruder to be a security risk, ordered his aides to arrest her.

The mother of the baby, who is a worker in the Bishop’s court, had reportedly kept her baby in the bedroom and went outside to attend to some domestic chores when she was attracted by her baby’s cry.

It was learnt that when the baby’s mother rushed into the room to find out why her baby was crying, she was shocked and dumbfounded to see a stranger carrying the baby in her arms.

Her alarm attracted security personnel at the gate and other workers in the expansive compound, who then took the intruder into custody to questioned her.

The lady later told The Guardian that it was God that directed her to the Bishop’s court where she had joined a crowd of students on pro-Ike Ekweremadu solidarity rally to enter the Bishop’s court.

She said on seeing the students bearing a large banner with Senator Ekweremadu’s picture, she thought it was an opportunity for her to complain to the politician the victimisation she suffered in her place of work.

Later, when a team of policemen from the New Haven Police Station came, one of them quickly recognized Priscilla as a former employee of PPSMB, who was was relieved of her duties last year ‘due to her health condition.”
