Islamic group scribe kidnapped
The Secretary of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Plateau State, Sheikh Abdulaziz Yusuf was kidnapped with his driver on Wednesday near Kaduna.
The JNI Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Mudi confirmed the incident yesterday. He said the abductors had contacted Yusuf’s family members and had asked them to pay a ransom.
Mudi said Sheikh Abdulaziz was on his way to Sokoto to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki.
His son, Sani Abdulaziz, however said that there was no significant communication between the family and the abductors.
The Plateau State Police Command spokesman, Assistant Superintendent Tyopev Terna was not available to confirm the incident.
