As the people await the Court of Appeal’s ruling on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship candidate today, the state chairman, Clement Faboyede, has expressed hope that the party would be victorious.

Faboyede, who spoke in Akure at the party’s senatorial meeting yesterday, said the conspiracy against its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede would not succeed.

He said the PDP had absolute confidence in the judiciary to reverse the replacement of Jegede with Jimoh Ibrahim.

Party chieftains in the central senatorial district attended the meeting.

According to the chairman, a cabal had colluded with some bad eggs at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop Jegede because of his brighter chances of defeating other candidates.

He, however, said those detractors would not succeed in their plot, adding that Jegede would bounce back to win the election on November 26.

He told the over 5000 party supporters not to be disillusioned, as the antics of the enemies had been exposed.

Faboyode urged them to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to enable them to vote at the election.

Also, the former deputy governor of the state, Omolade Oluwateru and former Ambassador to Greece, Prof. Olu Agbi, expressed the hope that Jegede would emerge as the party’s candidate.

The party chieftains urged the supporters across the state not to panic, as the party was sure of victory at the end.
