THE body of a kidnapper dressed in military fatigue was displayed at the Kogi State Police Headquarter yesterday, after he and his group fell to the superior firepower of the police in a gun duel. The police had trailed the four kidnappers from Adoko-Okene highway, where they robbed about twelve vehicles and abducted four victims into the forest.

The police in Adogo, headquarters of Ajaokuta Local council, as well as the vigilante group, after a distress call, moved into the forest in the direction the hoodlums had taken their victims and caught up with them, after about 25kms of resilience. Upon sighting them, the kidnappers attacked with gunshots, but the police, who returned fire for fire in the gun duel, fell one of the kidnappers, while the other three escaped with bullet wounds. The victims were, however, rescued unhurt.
