Alleged wife killer, Lekan Shonde, who has spent three days in police custody, has reportedly gone on hunger strike. He has declined to eat since he voluntarily turned himself in to the Lagos State Police Command for murder probe on Monday.

Also, his late wife’s alleged secret lover, Mr. Kayode Eyitayo Oluokun, who was alleged to have shattered the peace in the Shonde’s family, has kept silent even after being fingered as a protagonist in the Shonde’s family crisis.

Lekan had on Thursday last week allegedly murdered his wife on the suspicion that she was having an affair with Oluokun.

Popularly known as Alariwo by his friends, Oluokun is the District Manager of Learn Africa Plc., a publishing company at Oba Akran, Ikeja, Lagos. The Ibadan indigene and University of Lagos graduate just celebrated his marriage anniversary in March.

According to Lekan, his late wife had allegedly confessed to him that she was having an affair with Oluokun, who she fondly saved his number as ‘Eyitemi’.

Shonde had disclosed that the incident began after the wife returned from a five-day trip to Abuja, where she allegedly met up with Oluokun.

When she came back, Shonde said he overheard her talking to her alleged lover, and when he confronted her, she allegedly confessed to having an extra-marital affair.

All attempts to reach out to Oluokun by newsmen proved abortive, as his office said he was still in Abuja. They, however, declined to give out his phone number to newsmen.

Further enquiries by The Guardian to contact him through his Facebook profile and chat message sent to him was not replied.

Meanwhile, the suspect who is currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, was said to have refused to eat.

The couple’s two kids, Temioluwa and Tiaraoluwa, have been taken him to Kwara State to stay in their late mother’s family home.
