LSSTF donates seven patrol vans to Lagos police command

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) in line with its mandate to provide critical security equipment for the police and other security agencies in the State on Wednesday presented seven Nissan pick-up vans to the Lagos State Police Command.

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) in line with its mandate to provide critical security equipment for the police and other security agencies in the State on Wednesday presented seven Nissan pick-up vans to the Lagos State Police Command.

LSSTF Executive Secretary, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, who presented the vehicles, congratulated the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal on his recent appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on the enormous task before him. Balogun also urged the police to make the best use of the assets in their fight against crime.

The CP expressed his appreciation to the fund for the warm welcome and boost of the security architecture in the state. He said the new vehicles will go a long way in assisting the command achieve its goal of reducing the crime rate in Lagos by 30 per cent in the next two months.

Balogun noted that the repairs, maintenance and procurement of more security equipment are achievable through voluntary donations to the fund by public institutions, private organisations and well-meaning individuals.

“The fund, therefore, appeals to Lagosians and corporate entities to continue to make donations to the LSSTF for the provision of effective security architecture towards the prosperity of Lagos,” he said.
