Mimiko to complete all road projects before exit

Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has reiterated his commitment to complete all road project under construction before the expiration of his tenure..

The Commissioner for Works, Gboye Adegbenro disclosed this yesterday in Akure, the state capital while inspecting the Oba-Ile-Airport dual carriage road project which was awarded in 2010.

Adegbenro, who claimed that the administration recorded the highest number of roads constructed, assured the people that all the projects inherited from past administrations would be completed.

According to him: “About 70 per cent of these roads were only surface dressed. But we decided to lay asphalt on them. We have completed this assignment today. Oba Adesida road was one of such roads, which needed reconstruction. It was built 34 years ago.

“The roads were originally designed for light weight vehicles, but we redesigned them some years ago and added seven additional dual carriage ways. We have constructed 29 out of about 31 kilometres in Ikare/Ibaramu/Iboropa road with two major bridges.”

The commissioner who applauded Ondo State Agency for Road Maintenance and Construction (OSARMCO) for giving technical support, listed some of the roads as, Igbokoda, Arakale, Owo, Ondo and Parliament dual roads.

“We would fulfill our pledge on roads and strive not to leave uncompleted projects for the incoming government.
