More feared killed at Zaki-Biam suburbs in Benue
Again, scores were feared killed in Tse-Chia Village, a suburb of Zaki-Biam at the weekend, as well as, other surrounding settlements in Ukum Local Government Council of Benue State.
The Guardian gathered that after Governor Samuel Ortom’s visit to Zaki Biam to assess the killings and damage done to the yam international market, other pockets of killings took place at other surrounding villages, including Tse Agena, Ayati, Angbaaye and Alabar, where a family was set ablaze in their house.
Confirming the killings, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Moses Yamu, (ASP), said the attackers stormed the Tse Chia village at about 1am and burnt down four houses.
Three persons, he disclosed, were burnt to death in one of the houses, adding that preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of one of the vehicles used in Monday’s Zaki-Biam massacre hails from that village.
