AS part of efforts to frustrate any attempt to rig the forthcoming polls, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State yesterday said it has received a consignment of card readers in the state .

This has put an end to fear being expressed by politicians that some money bags have purchased large quantity of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the state with a view to rigging the forthcoming elections.

The Head of Voter Education and Publicity of the commission in Ibadan, Ayodele Folami, disclosed this on a private radio station in the state capital amidst the controversy surrounding attempts by some politicians in the state to rig the election using PVCs purchased from the people.

Folami described such exercise as futile and waste of resources, saying the commission has received a consignment of card readers which will take care of anybody using someone else’s PVC .

The Commission spokesman in the state enjoined the electorate not to sell their PVCs for paltry sum and suffer for four years “because they will not be bold to ask the politicians for accountability.”
