NTDC sets up panel to access United Nations funds
The Acting Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Mrs. Mariel Rae-Omoh, has set up a seven-member committee to access United Nations Tourism Intervention Funds.
A statement by Rae-Omoh said the committee would work with the Institute for Tourism Practitioners (ITP) to facilitate the development and promotion of tourism assets.
According to her: “We cannot depend on the budget alone to do the needful in the industry. We must explore Private Public Partnership (PPP) and other international funds and grants.”
She urged the Director of Administration and Supply, Mr. Boniface Eboka, who is chairman of the committee, to ensure that the country benefits from international tourism funds.
The institute’s President, Abiodun Odusanwo, said the time is ripen for the NTDC to explore the UN’s intervention funds to develop the industry.
Members of the committee are the Director of Legal Services, Mrs. Funebi Omondak, Acting Director, Hospitality and Travel Trade, Mr. Arua Vincent, Acting Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Mrs. Hassan Bukola Bamidele.
