Ogbebor advocates joint effort against graft
A Nigerian civil war veteran, Col. Paul Ogbebor (rtd.), has called for concerted efforts to tackle corruption, which, according to him, is responsible for extreme poverty in the country.
Ogbebor stated this while receiving honorary membership from Nigeria Institute for Character Education (NICE) in Benin City, Edo State. He said sustained investments would checkmate the unemployment arising from the menace.
The ex-military officer challenged the elite and leaders to make the younger generation understand the essence of life, stressing that “if you have everything in life and lack character, you are nothing.”Chairman of NICE, Eddy Ikponmwen, said the organisation was helping to build capacity in select public secondary schools in the state whose students demonstrated exemplary character.
