Okorocha cancels MoU between oil firm and host communities
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has directed the cancelation of Memorandum of Understanding between oil companies and host communities in the state.
Okorocha made the pronouncement at the weekend, while inaugurating three committees at Government House in Owerri.
Okorocha said he would not accept the situation, where oil companies would marginalise people from the area, while only few monarchs and those, who call themselves stakeholders, continue to enjoy resources to the detriment of youths of the state.
He called for employment of not less than 1, 000 youths in the state in the new arrangement.
