Organisers set up steering committee for WAIPEC 2017 in Lagos

The organisers of the West African International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (WAIPEC) 2017 have constituted a steering committee for the programme scheduled for February 21-23, 2017 at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.

The organisers of the West African International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (WAIPEC) 2017 have constituted a steering committee for the programme scheduled for February 21-23, 2017 at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.

The event will attract business leaders and stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.WAIPEC, organised by the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) will promote local expertise and key projects in West Africa. It would also support the development of new collaborations for the region’s petroleum economy.

Members of the committee are the Managing Director, FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Limited and Chairman, Nigerian Independent Oil Companies, Ademola Adeyemi- Bero, Chief Executive Officer, SEPLAT Petroleum Development Company, Austin Ojunekwu Avuru, Chairman, Petroleum Technology Engineers Association of Nigeria (PETAN), Bank Anthony Okoroafor, Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), Bayo Ojulari and Emeka Ene.

Others are Vice Chairman, PETAN, Geoff Onuoha, Deputy Managing Director, TOTAL Exploration and Production, Ahmadu-Kida Musa, Chairman Conferences Committee, PETAN, Ranti Omole, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Simbi Kesiye Wabote, Dr. Mazadu Bako and the Group General Manager (GGM) of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), Dafe Sejebor. WAIPEC is the only oil and gas event partnering Nigeria’s petroleum industry.

The committee will guide the content of over 25 business, technical and special focus sessions, featuring more than 75 top industry speakers and representatives from both regional and international oil and gas community.

Also scheduled to hold with the conference is an exhibition projected to attract over 200 companies and 6,000 professionals from West Africa, Europe, Americas and Asia.

Okoroafor said: “The association has put together representatives from both public and private exploration, production and services companies. Their experience would ensure the success of WAIPEC 2017.”
