Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, yesterday signed into law, the 2016 appropriation bill of N150.7 billion, promising that he would ensure strict compliance to its full implementation.

Ortom, who gave the assurance at the Benue People’s House, Makurdi, also pledged to provide good grounds for free operations of other arms of government.

He pledged his administration’s commitment to transparency in all things entrusted into its hands.

“There should not be any thing that would contravene this law. I have directed the director of budget that any expenditure approved, must be enforced by individuals and agencies of government, in compliance with the budgetary law,” he said.

This he added was to “avoid unnecessary issues that may arise from the expenditure.”

The governor tasked the people to be ready at all times to “provide the necessary information that the assembly members on overnight functions and journalists may request for in order to avoid speculations.”
