Osun releases N40m to settle 400 fresh pensioners
Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, said he has again approved the release of N40m for payment of another set of 400 pensioners in the state.
According to a statement by the Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade, made available to The Guardian, yesterday, the money is meant for settling of pension for 148 retired secondary school teachers, 250 retired civil servants, and two retired parastatals workers.
Oyebade said a sum of N25m, N14.8m and N200, 000 were to be paid to the retired civil servants, teachers and parastatals workers respectively.
He explained that the beneficiaries were the third batch of pensioners, adding that payment of pensioners is an on-going exercise in fulfillment of the government’s promise on payment of gratuities and pensions on first come first served basis.
