Paralysed broadcaster seeks N25m to get back to life

Jude Ikegwuonu, a broadcaster, who was involved in a ghastly car crash on July 4, 2013, which affected his spinal cord that left him paralysed on all four limbs (quadriplegia) till date, is in desperate need of $50,000 (N25 million) to get his life back.

Jude Ikegwuonu, a broadcaster, who was involved in a ghastly car crash on July 4, 2013, which affected his spinal cord that left him paralysed on all four limbs (quadriplegia) till date, is in desperate need of $50,000 (N25 million) to get his life back.

Accepting his fate as a quadriplegic, bedridden young man with excruciating pains, the ace broadcaster needs the support of Nigerians to raise the money to enable him acquire mobility aids, which include a stairs-climbing wheelchair, mobile ramps, and wheel chair van.

Ikegwuonu, who hopes to get back to work and become the first Nigerian quadriplegic broadcaster in history, is now faced with another crisis, as his mother, who is his only hope and support was involved in an accident that left her in a comma for days with stitches on her head.

Jude, whose caregivers carry him around whenever he is invited as a guest speaker, has spent over N20 million to see himself through to this stage.Driven by his passion for broadcasting and believing that his paralysed state is not an obstacle to achieving greater heights, he has recorded many inspirational videos that have touched many lives and also does part time broadcasting job to make ends meet.

Until his accident, he worked with Nigeria Info FM 92.3 Port Harcourt, Channels Television, among others.“I need the support of Nigerians to enable me live a productive life again. I don’t believe that I cannot function even in this condition. I don’t see myself as not being to make impact in life.
