The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pledged to offer better, credible and sustainable alternative programmes, if elected.

State chairman of the party, Soji Adagunodo, made the promise yesterday at a press conference to unveil the party’s manifesto.

Adagunodo, who said the PDP is on a rescue mission after eight years of misrule by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Stressed that the party would restore the state to the path of economic prosperity, as it begins electioneering campaign today.

The PDP accused the APC of crippling-debts that have caused a sharp decline in human welfare and infrastructure.

The chairman said the party is prepared to defeat the incumbent government, using its carefully drawn manifesto that would be unveiled from today, ahead of the September 22 governorship election.

He listed six-point agenda that the PDP intends to use to salvage the state to include: economic rejuvenation, agricultural revolution, restructured educational system, improved workers’ welfare, improved health care delivery, with motivated and equipped workers, as well as improved road network and water infrastructures.

He said: “The critical areas will be the major pursuits of the PDP in government with effect from November 27, 2018 by the grace of God.

“We are delighted to inform the whole world that our party is building a coalition of well-meaning leaders and citizens of Osun State to ensure its victory and restore power to the people.”

Adagunodo stressed that some prominent leaders and members of the Social Democratic Party(SDP), APC, Accord Party, Peoples Democratic Movement and others, have been joining the PDP in the last few weeks, as a build up to sacking the current government.

The chairman said the party would adopt issues-based campaigns, while promising the people a new lease of life.

Standard-bearer of the party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, said PDP would transform Osun into a state that works for all.

He urged members to complement the party’s rallies with house-to-house mobilisation to enhance the success of the party at the poll.
