Detectives of Ogun State police command have arrested a three-man gang who specializes in vandalising the mast of the telecommunication firm, MTN in Atan Ota area of Ado-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
 
The three suspects, Kehinde Yahaya, 36; Akeem Adetona, 36; and Taofeek Olalere, 36 were arrested following a distress call made to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Atan Ota division, Abiodun Salau, a Superintendent of Police at about 12:00a.m. midnight by the vigilance group men at Onigbogbo Phase 2 that a group of thieves have burgled into the MTN mast and they were carting away 12 solar power panels valued at about N14 million.
 
According to spokesman of Ogun State police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, “on the strength of the distress call, the DPO led his patrolmen to the scene where three of the hoodlums were arrested while others escaped into the nearby bush.

 
“Recovered from them are the 12 solar panels as well as their operational Danfo bus with registration number Lagos LND 10 XE.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSARS for discreet investigation.
 
“The CP equally directed that serious manhunt should be launched for the fleeing members of the gang with the view of bringing them to justice.”
