Police restricts vehicular movement as Osun West bye-election holds today

The Osun State Police Command has placed a restriction order on movement of vehicles from 8.00am to 2pm today when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would conduct the Osun West senatorial bye-election.

The Osun State Police Command has placed a restriction order on movement of vehicles from 8.00am to 2pm today when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would conduct the Osun West senatorial bye-election.

The seat became vacant in April following the sudden death of Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. Eleven political parties are expected to participate in the election.

Already, non- sensitive materials had been distributed by INEC to all the 10 local councils that made up the senatorial district.

Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, said necessary security arrangement had been made while detachment of policemen; soldiers and other security agents had been assigned to various councils to ensure security and success of the election. Adeoye warned troublemakers to stay away from the voting areas or have themselves to blame.
