Former Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari, alongside former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu, were allegedly attacked by APC political thugs in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

The incident occurred yesterday at the residence of a former Minister of Sports, Ismail Balaraba Sambawa, who was giving out his daughter in marriage.

Sambawa had invited all the political stakeholders in the state, including members of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to add colour to the occasion.

But what started as a drama shortly after the wedding fathia prayer, took a sorry turn when thugs believed to be working for the APC smashed the former governor’s car, breaking the windscreen.

Eye witness account revealed that the incident started around 12.30 when APC supporters, adorning T shirts with APC inscription started abusing PDP stakeholders at the ceremony, taunting them in Hausa language, “Kachi amana nmu (you have betrayed us), while pelting stones at cars in the former governor’s convoy.”
